Hello,

I’m Mr. Leida, principal of Pleasantville Elementary School. Thank you for visiting my website to learn more about me. I have been an educator for approximately 12 years having graduated from the University of Delaware in 1996 (Majors-Elementary and Special Education, Minor-History).

I began teaching in the Colonial School District upon graduation and have taught both regular and special education students prior to becoming an administrator. I received my master’s degree (Special Education) and administrative certificate from Wilmington University. After receiving my certificate, I was hired as an assistant principal at McCullough Elementary for two years. I served as principal at McCullough Elementary for the next four years and was transfered to Pleasantville beginning in June 2007.

As principal, it is my expectation that we continue to create a safe, focused, and welcoming environment where children are achieving their highest potential. Additionally, I expect that all members of our school community give 100% each day to be able to yield the greatest success for our children and achieve our school’s mission.

When not at Pleasantville or other Colonial School District events, I enjoy spending my time with my family. My children Ella, Declan, Aidan, and Kacie keep my wife, Amy, and I very busy with lots of activities and sporting events (Go Blue Hens!). We really enjoy spending time at the Delaware beach or Jersey shore in the summer!

If you have any questions, please contact me at 302-323-2935 or pleida@colonial.k12.de.us.
